MEET THE FIRST CONNECTION

A name that keeps up.

Start with the address.
Keep the possibilities open.

DYNAMIC DNS

DyDNS↗

Your IP changes.
Your hostname stays.

Reach your home server, studio, or network with a hostname you already own. A small client keeps its public IP address up to date.

FROM HERE TO CONNECTED

Three steps. One steady address.

The full guide ↗
  1. 01

    Bring your hostname.

Create a DyDNS account. Add a hostname you own and verify the assigned CNAME at your DNS provider.

  2. 02

    Connect your device.

Choose a native client or the readable Python source. Download your private configuration and run the client.

  3. 03

    Let it stay in sync.

The client detects public IP changes and updates DNS. Keep using the same hostname to find your connection.

↗ DyDNS keeps your address current. Your service still needs to be reachable through your router and firewall; dynamic DNS does not provide a tunnel or bypass CGNAT.
